Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who began her career with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies. She studied women's studies as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. She turned her attention to music once she completed her degree. Her track My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a viral hit via the Internet and was later featured on her first LP Yellow Ranger. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in 2015. This was an additional initiative. Apart from having published a book as well, she also worked as a singer. Apart from early series like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a series of notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
